But he did go to the press late last year stating his intention to be baptised together with his youngest son, Tennyson, in a chapel built on his own property.
Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D, probably one of the most recognised tune even to non music afficionadoes like me (EJ can vouch for that). But I thoroughly enjoyed this rendition by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet :
An apt reminder after watching an episode of Hak Kami on NTV 7 that highlighted sexual harassment.
“You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
.. and something I read today which shook me a bit ..
The gospel of grace is brutally devalued when Christians maintain that the transcendent God can only be properly honoured and respected by denying the goodness and the truth and the beauty of the things of this world ..
Brian McLaren’s books are not theologically correct. I’m not sure why, I just know they are.
I prefer Joel Osteen.
I refuse to switch to Apple.
Their hermeneutic of ecclesiology is unorthodox, fundamentally esoteric and meandering. It borders on epistemological ambiguity that is really troublesome. I’m afraid it will lead to heretical uncertainty of the most pernicious kind. (I loved this!)
44 more reasons why but I think they missed out one which I think is quite important especially in the local church context where I am in :
Candles are a fire hazard in small, confined places
In comparison, Koh Tsu Koon's gracious conceding of defeat and the People's Progressive Party's matter of fact reporting of their loss is in stark contrast to the sulking silence from the other Barisan Nasional component parties' online presence.
These two parties do seem very out of place within the ethos and make up of the Barisan Nasional ... hmm ... one could always hope, I guess.
I have managed to get my hands on a few units of Sony's latest contribution to the point and shoot digital camera market; the Cybershot DSC-T2. This model was first launched in Japan on October 23 and is due to hit the shelves in the US later today (ie. December 1). This also means it isn't available locally yet. At the very least, I don't see it on Sony Malaysia's website yet.
The Cybershot DSC-T2 has an 8.1 megapixel resolution and a whopping 4 gigs of internal memory enabling to store up to 40,000 VGA-quality photos or 1,000 8-megapixel pictures. This makes external media cards almost obsolete. It also comes with a state-of-the-art Automatic Images Management System making it a virtual digital photo album. Extra features include a touch panel LCD screen replacing the standard small buttons and Sony's distinctive "smile shutter" which automatically detects and captures a person smiling without the need to press the shutter. Its also available in some pretty funky colours to suit your individual taste - black, white, blue, green and pink. Pretty sweet, huh?
For more on the specifications and features of the Cybershot DSC-T2, check out Sony Asia's presentation here.
Interested in getting one for yourself or need an idea for a Christmas gift?
Check out my eBay listing here. Additional units are linked from the scroller at the bottom of the listing.
How much? Well .. its an auction but here's a hint .. it definitely is lower than the listed retail price.
Apparently an announcement was made in TV3's midnight news last night that members of the public are banned from wearing yellow tomorrow!?
OMG .. I'm supposed to be asleep now but I'm too busy rolling on the floor laughing! How bloody low can one go? The true measure of UMNO-BN .. a paramecium .. nope .. that would be an insult to that unicellular ciliate protozoa? I hope the Royal Malaysian Police would find it too undignified to even bother upholding this arbitrary ban.

when you check out your order. I did an unsolicited review of BetterWorld.com earlier in this post.
Not too bad of a way to fund literacy, care for the environment and get a fair price for the books that you want. For more stories and news on BetterWorld.com books, and pictures, have a look at the Better World Blog.
The 31st of October is commemorated every year in many churches of the Lutheran tradition (and some of the Reformed tradition) as Reformation Day. Translated into Malay, this would be Hari Reformasi .. hehe .. interesting connotations eh? Interestingly, Reformation Day is a civic holiday in Slovenia despite the population of that country being primarily Roman Catholic - go figure :)
Scuttlebutt has it that on this day in 1517 (a mere half a decade after the establishment of the Johor-Riau Sultanate - which is today the Johor Sultanate and one of the successor states of the Malacca Sultanate), an Augustinian monk and professor of theology at the University of Wittenberg, the Rev'd Fr. Dr. Martin Luther, nailed a collection of points for debate.
If you have been brought to this site due to inflammatory comments on religion, race or other similiar content, please note that there is a sockpuppet going around impersonating me and a few other bloggers. For background, see my posts here, here, here and here.
