This blog saw its genesis on July 18, 2003, sputtered for a while and regained new life on February 17, 2004. Am I really such a geek to remember these dates? Perhaps .. then again, it helps when the former date is your birthday and the latter the exact day that your firstborn was delivered.
What happened to all the older posts? They're gone .. for now. I might re-post them again one of these days, but for now, they're gone.
Faith + Works = Life
I believe in a wholistic expression of my faith (which happens to be the one that calls Jesus of Nazareth the Christ and among other things; Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace). Having spent years trying to live up to the standards of the Church, it took me awhile to realise what grace actually meant.
We can knock ourselves silly for being a failure in certain aspects of our personal piety and morality without realising how large a stumbling block that can be to us living as citizens of the Kingdom. We could also just pretend we're doing okay, and knock others for not being better. Either way, it's pretty screwed up.

My Ecclesial Journey
Being Malaysian, we have the advantage of being totally oblivious to denominational distinctives (and by extension, denominational differences too), theological nuances and the other stuff that helped spark stuff like the Inquisition, the 30 Year War and some say the Fourth Crusade. That would probably explain why I ventured the way I did ..
- Wesley Methodist Church, Teluk Intan (1987 - 1989)
- where I first heard that God loved me - Full Gospel Tabernacle, Petaling Jaya (1989 - 1996)
- where I got baptised (full immersion for those who really need to know) - Church of Praise (A/G) / Johor Bahru Baptist Church, Johor Bahru (1996 - 1997)
- if I ever did go to church, those were the places I'd be - The Church Invisible (1997 - 1999)
- okay .. so I skipped church for a few years - Damansara Utama Methodist Church, Petaling Jaya (1999 - 2005)
- where some of the best reasons of coming home were ingrained - The Church Invisible (2005 - 2006)
- do I need to go into details? - Bangsar Lutheran Church, Kuala Lumpur (2006 - present)
- a safe place to rest, rant and still call home
Some folks think I bleed blue. That's mainly because I have been pretty much associated with The Boys' Brigade since I was a kid (say around 1985?). I started as a Junior in the 1st Teluk Intan Company and later went on to become an Officer in the 1st Petaling Jaya Company for quite a few years. In fact, I've only been taking a break for a couple of years and might still rejoin the movement in the future. :)
I have been a member of Parti Keadilan Rakyat since Parti Rakyat Malaysia of which I used to belong to since 1999 merged with Parti Keadilan Nasional. Prior to that, I was briefly a member of the Democratic Action Party (1993 - 1994).
