Some Changes In Store For This Blog
For starters, a re-design is probably overdue (although I better get those re-designs in my to-do list completed first). There has also been some re-alignment in my interests and intentions over the last 12 months or so and I feel that it might be better for this blog if the content structure reflected that change. At the very least, it’d get updated more often.
When I first started blogging on this domain in 2003, I was relatively newly married and was just re-engaging the faith of my youth and rediscovering it anew. This blog announced the births of both my kids and now the eldest one is just slightly more than a year away to starting primary school.
A lot of what I had to say publicly then was primarily socio-political in nature, even at a time when it was still not sexy to be seen as an “Opposition” party supporter. I was (and still am) exploring the various ways in which my professed faith can be acted out faithfully both in the realm of the private as well as the public and have benefited from the fellowship, engagement and friendships that has resulted due to that.
I’m not saying that I’m going to stop talking about socio-political issues. This has been so deeply ingrained in me that I’d probably feel extremely awkward not doing so. Nonetheless, other matters have also been elevated to higher levels of interests and priority over the years.
Over the next few months, I think you’d probably expect to see more focus on issues like adult education, lifelong learning, freelancing, and other related matters (how related? I guess we’ll just have to see how I do my wordcrafting). I have yet to actually work out any form of architecture for the new blog yet except for a very vague idea of how the eventual framework is gonna look like.
Well .. here’s to a new chapter for bobjots : redux .. and a new chapter in my life’s journey.
