Post September 16 Arbitrary Posts
Here’s a collection from the blogosphere about the current developments vis a vis the attempted constitutional takeover of government by Pakatan Rakyat:
- 16 Sept Bukan Tarikh Serta-Merta Tubuh Kerajaan Baru
KeADILan Youth leader, Sdr Shamsul Iskandar, reiterates that the target date of September 16 was merely to mark the beginning of the constitutional process to seek the replacement of a BN administration with a Pakatan administration - Hartal ISA On Standby Mode : Update
Haris Ibrahim reports that MPs from Sabah and Sarawak are facing difficulties in booking flights to the Semenanjung. - Pakatan’s Next Stop: Istana Negara
Malaysiakini quotes the MP of Parit Buntar, Ust. Mujahid Yusuf Rawa, that an official letter to the palace had been sent a few days ago seeking an audience with the YDP Agong. - Defecting Lawmakers Only Opportunists, Says Jakarta Post
BERNAMA attempts a spin on an op-ed by the Jakarta Post, with sites like the Malaysian Insider faithfully reproducing it. The original Jakarta Post piece, however, paints a somewhat different picture. - Changing The Government
While the media on both sides of the divide either demonises or lauds the mid term change in administration, Wong Chin Huat gives, what I feel IMHO, a more sober and impartial look at the opportunities and difficulties that will arise from such a move.
And there’s some good news as well:
- After Two Nights, Blogger’s Out
Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz AKA Kickdefella is also released from custody after being remanded for two days under the Sedition Act. - Thank God, Teresa’s Freed! Now Let’s Get The Others Out
Teresa Kok is freed after 7 days incarceration under the ISA. Some of the commenters share their thoughts:I believe a special effort needs to be made to acknowledge the Malay leaders of Pas, PKR and various Muslim and Malay NGOs (not to forget Zaid) who stepped forward to lend their support, thus foiling the plot to turn her arrest into a racial issue.
- Heads They Win, Tails I Lose
Good ol’ Raja Petra manages to smuggle a message out from ISA detention. Hang in there!
