Your Vote Matters .. Your Decision Matters More

This music video was made a group of supporters in the town of Machap, Melaka where another friend, Ginie Lim is running for the State Assembly. Great creativity in the great tradition of Chinese protest songs ..

(In 2008 there'll be an election)
(Right before Anwar qualifies to get elected)
(Politicians coming from all over the nation)
(With their sweet candy and promises unlimited)

(Malaysia today in 2008)
(Where corruption, banditry and hegemony dominate)
(Her people trapped like butterflies)
(In a caged existence, her people cries)

(Can't forget the "short sword" that was alofted)
(The heated anger hidden in the hearts arise)
(No more votes for these politicians' lies)

(Its the vote in your hands that change can arise)
(Its the wisdom in your mind that spring will emerge)
(Its the vote in your hands that ideals will rise)
(Its with your justice and courage that a new day will surge)

This exercise proves three things .. one .. I need to brush up on my skills in reading and writing simplified Chinese .. two .. my Chinese-English translation abilities needs much more work .. and ... three .. poetry and verse is definitely not my strongest skill! :D

Nonetheless ..

Buy me a coffeeIf you liked this post, consider buying me some coffee. Suggested price is $1.00 for a cup and $10.00 for a 1 lbs bag (personally I am a big fan of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe).
