I have managed to get my hands on a few units of Sony's latest contribution to the point and shoot digital camera market; the Cybershot DSC-T2. This model was first launched in Japan on October 23 and is due to hit the shelves in the US later today (ie. December 1). This also means it isn't available locally yet. At the very least, I don't see it on Sony Malaysia's website yet.
The Cybershot DSC-T2 has an 8.1 megapixel resolution and a whopping 4 gigs of internal memory enabling to store up to 40,000 VGA-quality photos or 1,000 8-megapixel pictures. This makes external media cards almost obsolete. It also comes with a state-of-the-art Automatic Images Management System making it a virtual digital photo album. Extra features include a touch panel LCD screen replacing the standard small buttons and Sony's distinctive "smile shutter" which automatically detects and captures a person smiling without the need to press the shutter. Its also available in some pretty funky colours to suit your individual taste - black, white, blue, green and pink. Pretty sweet, huh?

For more on the specifications and features of the Cybershot DSC-T2, check out Sony Asia's presentation here.
Interested in getting one for yourself or need an idea for a Christmas gift?
Check out my eBay listing here. Additional units are linked from the scroller at the bottom of the listing.
How much? Well .. its an auction but here's a hint .. it definitely is lower than the listed retail price.

I just put up additional listings for a few CyberShot DSC-T20s and a few CyberShot DSC-T100s - all about 30% - 40% below market price.
