The inevitable year end travelling has started and this blog will probably remain quiet until after Christmas. The year that was has had a lot of negativity and seems to be ending with a note of negativity as well. Nonetheless, there's still a lot to be thankful of and look forward to in the coming new year.
Even as I re-read and reflect on the story of Christmas, I am reminded that despite all, there is still an underlying hope of redemption and salvation; brought by Christ; and reflected by those who call him Lord and Saviour.
So to all and sundry, a blessed Christmas and many happy memories with the family and may we learn the wisdom of the traditional Three Wise Men as pictured above, who journeyed far to seek a higher Wisdom that transcends all.
A Christmas Prayer
attributed to Robert Louis StevensonLoving Father,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.
Amen.
